The remarkable run to the Stanley Cup Final
The Vegas Golden Knights is the 31st franchise in the National Hockey League (NHL) and literally stunned everyone when they entered the league in the 2017/18 season. After a fortunate NHL Expansion Draft prior the season they received key players such as Goalgetter James Neal, Topscorer William Karlson or three-time Stanley Cup Champion and goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury. After a tremendous start into the regular season they pathed their way to the Stanley Cup Final where they fell against the Washington Capitals and the Great 8, Alexander Ovechkin. Despite the loss they were considered Legends. Never in NHL history has an expansion team reached the Stanley Cup Final in their first season.
Good to know for Swiss-Fellas: Luca Sbisa, a former EV Zug player has been a solid defenseman during the regular season and has assisted on a goal by Ryan Reaves that gave the Golden Knights a series-clinching 2-1 win against the Winnipeg Jets in Game 5 of the Western Conference Final.
